Abstract

A note written by G.A. Reid about Paul Peel (1860-1892) and how he came to know the Canadian painter. Reid and Peel had both studied in Philadelphia but did not meet until studying in Paris at Benjamin Constant's studio. Reid briefly discusses their careers and how following the sale of some of Peel's art, Peel was able to paint some of his finest works, like After The Bath, before passing away two years later.
