Abstract:

This research explores how an inclusive, user-centered digital health product can better support long-term diet management. Although digital tools are widely used in healthcare and dietary management, most existing products mainly focus on food tracking and data recording, while offering limited support for the broader challenges users face in sustaining healthy eating habits.

A mixed-methods approach was used, including an online survey, one-on-one user interviews, and a co-design workshop, to examine users’ experiences, needs, and pain points in diet management. The findings show that diet management is influenced by multiple factors, including difficulty maintaining healthy habits, lack of professional nutritional guidance, emotional eating, and the time and effort required for daily food planning.

Based on these findings, the study suggests that future digital dietary management tools should integrate personalized guidance, emotional support, and sustainable habit-building features. This research provides design insights for developing more inclusive and supportive digital health products.
