| Abstract: | Contemporary Disabled artists are making work that considers facets of their identities and expressions of intimacy through a critical disability lens, expanding ideas about care, and illuminating how disability identities may intersect with and expand these human experiences. This thesis considers four contemporary Disabled artists, collectives, and curators creating work about disability, and interrogates their practices and making of work. This study of disability cultural production is explored as an autoethnographic, epistolary thesis, reviewing an experiential understanding of disability intimacy alongside critical disability theory. |
