Abstract

The most important innovations in Vevelstad are the utilization of the resources in seaweed and kelp, the use of CRISPR Cas9 technology, the sharing and sale of data, as well as the introduction of citizen salaries and expanding so-called fundamental services to the people. This means, for example, free legal aid, free daycare, free or greatly reduced housing costs. There will also be quotas for free electricity, water and telecommunications. The start-up assistance and the ownership share the municipality has in the companies in the village is also important. This encourages people to start companies in what they already have knowledge about and want to do. The model is based on a strong collaboration and active sharing of data and knowledge between different actors. This is how you achieve a local community where the various industries are not dependent on each other, but can still benefit from each other’s knowledge.
